Meet the Team

Max Lohe is the Director of Sport at DESS.  He has been a member of the DESS PE Department for over ten years and during this time he has seen many positive changes in the quality and quantity of Sport and Physical Education at the school.

Max is very proud of the sporting traditions and outstanding reputation that DESS holds.

Originally from Australia, he has a passion for team sports, in particular Rugby Union, Cricket and Touch Rugby and enjoys passing on his knowledge and enthusiasm for sport to all children.

Following his studies at Aberystwyth and Cambridge University Mark Webster began his career in a small prep school on the South Coast of England.

He moved to Dubai in 2005 and became the Head of PE at DESS in 2015. Originally from Melrose in the Scottish Borders, the birth place of 7 a-side rugby, he grew up with a passion for the game but also for all sports and an outdoor lifestyle.

Running, tennis and golf are his main sporting areas nowadays in between chasing after his two young sons. Mark believes sport should be enjoyed by all, with children having as many opportunities as possible presented to them.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Honors Degree in Secondary Physical Education, Sophie Waugh has been teaching PE for over five years. Originally based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, in the North East of England, she recently moved to Dubai to join the PE team at DESS.

Her main sporting passion is Netball; which she has played and coached at a high level in the UK. She also enjoys playing a range of racquet sports and an eclectic variety of music and films.

Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne in the U.K., Katherine Murray graduated from Northumbria University with a degree in sport and a PGCE in PE.

Katherine loves teaching PE, especially having the opportunity to introduce children to lots of different sports and activities and finding something they enjoy and will continue with in adulthood.

Liam Kehoe has been in Dubai for 6 years, Head of PE and Internal Extracurricular coordinator at his previous school

Liam likes to keep myself fit and regularly compete in races across Dubai. Whether it be distance running, obstacle races or uphill climbs, being an advocate for sports and fitness is very important to him. He previously competed at a semi-professional level in Football and was a former county Badminton and Table Tennis player as a youth.

Lee Cuddihy has experienced playing many sports including golf, volleyball and tennis but his main passion is football.  He is a huge Arsenal fan and has completed his level 1 and 2 certificates in football coaching.

Lee has coached football to all age groups ranging from four year olds through to adults. He currently plays football for Dubai Allstars Vets at the Dubai 7’s stadium.  Lee teaches swimming here at DESS alongside FS1 PE, which he thoroughly enjoys.

Cameron Bosch is the Head Swim Coach at DESS.  He holds an ASA Level 2 Swimming and Coaching Qualification and a Bachelor Degree from the University of Johannesburg.

He also has had extensive personal swimming experiences, including representing South Africa as part of their international swimming team.

Cameron has joined the DESS PE team full-time this year and we look forward to him sharing his passion and enthusiasm for swimming with the DESS children.

Seonaid has been coaching netball and swimming here at DESS for two years.  She has worked in schools in Bahrain and Dubai for the last twelve years as a swim coach and teaching assistant.

Seonaid has a Bachelor of Science in Social Science and Geography and is currently completing a Masters degree in Public Health.  In her spare time she co-directs a UK based children’s charity, plays guitar, plays netball and enjoys keeping fit in the gym.
