WWII Day

Year Six World War II day - A splendid , action-packed day, occasionally interrupted with air raid sirens, saw the children

cooking,
making ration books,
researching and learning about significant people of the war,
creating gas masks and boxes.

The experience was helped along by the entertainer Vera Lynn on the wireless accompanied with Lord Woolton pie and porridge scones washed down with lashings of jelly (minus the ice cream due to rationing).

Thanks to our parent volunteers and Year 6 team for a super experience, Keep Calm and Carry On!

Dibba November 2011

As part of its Personal, Health and Social Education and Humanities curriculum, Year 6 visited the North Star Expedition Group Centre in Dibba. The centre at Dibba is designed as an adventure establishment, within its own fenced enclosed compound and the staff are highly trained individuals who are first aid qualified.

The three day visit was an ideal opportunity for the Year 6 children to use many of the skills they have been learning about, independence, responsibility and self-motivation, in a practical context. It was also an ideal opportunity to meet their teachers in a setting outside of the classroom.

As you can see from the following slide show a good time was had by all.
