Saturday 4th February
Hello everyone,
Although we were sad to say goodbye to our mums and dads on Friday evening, we were excited to begin our journey to Switzerland! We had a good journey to Abu Dhabi by coach and then we had time to explore the airport before we eventually boarded the flight in the early hours of Saturday morning. Although the flight was a bit bumpy at times, we were able to sleep and even the air hostesses commented on how well behaved and polite we were so that made the teachers happy!
Eventually we landed at Geneva airport and after we collected our luggage and left the airport, we had our first chilly blast of the sub-zero temperature! The journey to Crans-Montana was so picturesque as we saw deep snow drifts by the side of the road, a frozen waterfall and many trees covered with snow, “just like Narnia” commented Anoushka. We arrived at Crans-Montana mid-morning and then were busy unpacking and getting fitted out with boots, helmets and skis .
After a light lunch of pasta, we made sure we put on multiple layers as we left to walk to Montana to go ice-skating. We’re looking forward to an early night to catch up on our sleep and then our first day on the slopes tomorrow morning. It’s been a fantastic start to our Swiss adventure!
